Tree Stump Grinding and Removal
Tree stump grinding will remove the tree stump to a below the ground level, but often the roots are creating additional problems as well. Shallow root overgrowth is a common issue that people often face in Arizona as a result of using a drip system for their landscaping. While it is an excellent way to conserve water and is adequate for most of your landscaping, many trees need periodic deep watering. Since a drip system primarily waters near the surface, trees will often spread their roots wide and shallow seeking whatever water they can. This often causes surface root overgrowth which can create a trip hazard, break up sidewalks, driveways and even home foundations.

Depending on where the tree stump needs to be removed, access to the site will often determine what type of equipment can be used to get the job done. A stump grinder is often the tool of choice provided gates are wide enough to allow entry. If not, chainsaws can be used, but it is much more difficult and labor intensive.
When there is adequate access and excavator may be used, especially if the entire root ball needs to be removed. The root ball and root system on a large tree is often very large leaving a substantial hole which will require backfill which will add to the cost.
